Statement of Hardy Hanappi for the EAEPE Council election:
As the council member currently responsible for EAEPE’s scientific development and the coordination of research areas I would appreciate to support the recent course, and in particular the success of our research areas at the Amsterdam Conference in the future too. Involvement of all members o our community seems to be substantial for the success of our association, so a careful restructuring – without losing our significant characteristics – should be envisaged. In my view particular emphasis has to be put on the need to develop answers for the needsof economic policy. In times of deep economic and political crisis methodological issues have to prove their relevance. The broad range of research areas and concerns of EAEPE provides an excellent basis to cover the most burning issues of the current crisis in a broader context. Clearly we will therefore have to develop adequate organizational means to elaborate and to transport our issues. I would love to be part of that common task as part the next council.
