Thomas Marmefelt

Statement of Thomas Marmefelt for the EAEPE Council election:

I am a candidate in the 2009 EAEPE Council elections. Being both economist and historian made me interested in evolutionary economics, over time amended by institutional and Austrian economics. Starting within the area of innovation, structural change, and growth, I have continued to look for cultural and institutional foundations of innovation within the areas of international political economy and comparative economics. Having a Socratic approach to learning, I think one can benefit from those whose methodology and ideology one does not share. Heterogeneity is a source of mutual strength. Establishing active dialogue between schools of thought and disciplines is crucial.
