Statement of Jorma Sappinen for the EAEPE Council election:
The EAEPE has provided a great platform discussing, developing and applying evolutionary and institutional thought as our annual conferences and the EAEPE volumes published by Edward Elgar demonstrate, for instance. The theoretical ideas that the EAEPE members hold dear have been applied also outside the traditional domain of economics. Evolutionary economics has played a big role in the study of organizations and strategic management, especially in research on knowledge in organizations. Nelson’s and Winter’s concept of routine has been an origin of the concept of dynamic capability popular in strategic management, for example. Our association should continue to build bridges towards these fields sharing theoretical outlook.
