Keynote by Susan Aaronson on The mixed political economy of AI

One of the two keynote speeches at the 2025 EAEPE Conference will be delivered by Susan Ariel Aaronson, who is Research Professor of International Affairs at George Washington University (GWU). In her keynote, she will discuss competition in AI, AI nationalism, and the potential for AI overcapacity. The underlying theme is that governments are determined to invest taxpayer money in AI, and collectively that could lead to overcapacity, dumping of AI, and less effective regulation.
