Conference Opening: Franco Malerba on “Richard Nelson and the Evolutionary Theory of Economic Change”
As many of you know, the preparation of this conference coincided with the passing of Richard Nelson – a leading academic figure in the field of evolutionary economics and Honorary President of EAEPE.
To pay tribute to Richard Nelson, EAEPE invited Professor Franco Malerba, who has kindly accepted to open this year’s conference with a lecture on “Richard Nelson and the Evolutionary Theory of Economic Change”.
Franco Malerba is Professor Emeritus at Bocconi University and was closely associated with Richard Nelson both academically and personally. He has made major contributions to our understanding of how innovation unfolds differently across industries and sectors, and how firms evolve and behave within these environments.
